Mechanic Agreement
Version 1 ยท Effective October 25, 2026
Fix Ya Ride, Inc.
Agreement
This Mechanic Agreement is between you and Fix Ya Ride, Inc., a Texas corporation ("we", "us"). It applies in addition to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which you also accept. If they conflict, this agreement controls for your work as a mechanic.
You are an independent contractor
You are an independent business, not our employee, agent, partner or joint venturer. You decide whether to accept a job, how to do the work, which tools to use and when you are available.
You are responsible for your own taxes, licenses, tools, vehicle, fuel and expenses. We do not withhold taxes from your payouts and will report payments as the law requires.
Eligibility and verification
You must be at least 18, legally able to work in the United States, and qualified to do the services you offer. We may require identity verification, a background check, and proof of any license or certification you claim. You agree to keep that information accurate and current.
We may decline, pause or end your access if verification fails or information proves false.
Where you can work
The Platform currently serves Texas only. Jobs outside the area we serve are not offered.
Quality of work and warranty
You warrant your own work to the customer: that it will be done in a professional manner, with parts that suit the vehicle, and as described in the booking.
If a customer disputes your work within 30 days of completion, we may require you to redo it at your cost, or refund the customer and recover that amount from you. This platform redo-or-refund commitment is in addition to your warranty.
Pricing, platform fee and payouts
Customers pay one all-in price. It includes your labor and parts and the platform fee we keep for operating the marketplace. The fee for each job is shown in your earnings details before you accept it.
After you complete a job, your payout is held for 24 hours unless the customer signs off sooner, so refunds and disputes can be settled first. Payouts go to your connected Stripe account.
Card processing costs are deducted from your payout where the job is charged on our account, so your net payout matches what you were shown.
Payouts and clawback
If we refund a customer, or resolve a dispute in the customer's favor, for work you performed, you owe us that amount. We will reverse what your Stripe balance allows. Any remainder is recorded as a debit that we net against your future transfers until it is repaid.
You also owe us any payout made in error and any amount recovered from a chargeback related to your job.
Stripe Connected Account Agreement
To be paid you must open a Stripe connected account and accept Stripe's terms. Stripe, not us, performs identity verification and payment processing for that account.
Insurance and liability
You must carry the insurance the Platform requires for the services you offer, including liability coverage appropriate to mobile automotive work, and keep it in force while you accept jobs. You must show proof when we ask.
You are responsible for damage to a customer's vehicle or property, or injury to anyone, caused by you or your work. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your work or your breach of this agreement, to the extent Texas law allows.
Cancellations and lateness
You can cancel at no charge until your mechanic is on the way (prepaid appointments are refunded in full). If you cancel after your mechanic has started driving to you and within 30 minutes of your appointment time, a $15.00 fee applies. It goes to your mechanic for the trip, and the rest is refunded.
If you cannot make a job, release it as early as you can. A job you are late for may be reassigned, and the customer will not be charged a cancellation fee.
Reliability and strikes
We record a strike when you miss a job, release it after it is too late for another mechanic to take it, or leave without completing it. Repeated strikes may lead to suspension or removal. A job you are late for may be reassigned, and you lose that job.
Keeping customers on the Platform
You will not ask or accept payment for work from a customer you met through the Platform outside the Platform to avoid its fees, and you will not encourage a customer to do so. This applies while you use the Platform and for a reasonable period after.
Location and messages
Your location is shared with the customer while you are on a job. We keep location data for 90 days and chat messages for 3 years.
Ending this agreement
You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or end your access for a breach of this agreement, a safety concern, or a verification failure. Amounts owed remain due after the agreement ends.
Arbitration and class action waiver
Disputes between you and us are resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, instead of in court, except for individual small claims. You and we each waive jury trial and class or representative proceedings.
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting this agreement by emailing support@fixyaride.com.
Governing law and venue
This agreement is governed by Texas law. Claims that may be brought in court must be brought in Denton County, Texas.
